On-U Sound Records discography: Part 1: LP1 to LP60

This is part 1 of a discography of Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound record label and covers album releases in the 'LP' numbering series from LP 1 to LP 60. For general comments about the layout and format of this discography please view the introduction page and related index page. Part 2 covers the remaining albums in the 'LP' series, Part 3: the albums in the 'CD' numbering series and Part 4: On-U Sound singles and miscellaneous other releases.

The discography is in four parts simply because of its size. While much research has gone into its making by many people, this is a working document and any additions or corrections from you would be most welcome and not be un-credited. Please get in touch.

AuLP/CLP sleeves replaced the red colouring with blue. The Japanese LP came with an insert containing lyrics in English and Japanese and an 'On-U family tree'. The original On-U issue was limited to 1000 copies. Master Recordings CD reissue contains a CD-ROM track with On-U Sound discography and biographic information. The JpCD came with a fold-out insert of sleeve notes (in Japanese). JpCD copies sold through the Disc Union shop in Tokyo also came with a minature sash replica of the original JpLP. Some Statik 1982 UKLP reiss. copies came packaged with a copy of the 'My Love' 7" single and a small poster advertising the 12" version and the then newly-released LP3. Japan LP edition contained an insert with notes by AMS (also translated into Japanese by Kishi Yamamoto) and lyrics in English. The NzLP is similar to the Statik issue, with just the addition of a small RTC logo under the Statik / On.U one and "Marketed by RTC PO Box 3825, Auckland". Its label is a variation of the UKLP design, but is pale blue, rather than yellow, and has all the credits in a white box. Master Recordings CD reissue contains a CD-ROM track with On-U Sound discography and biographic information. The JpCD came with a fold-out insert of sleeve notes (in Japanese). Originally recorded in 1978 but not mixed until 1980. The 4D Rhythms and JpCD releases featured a colour sleeve, whereas the On-U vinyl reissue had a black and white sleeve of otherwise the same design. The JpCD also came with a fold-out insert of sleeve notes (in Japanese) and titled tracks 1-9 "Space Movement Section <1-9>" instead of as above.
