Sound Boy discography

Sound Boy (or Soundboy) was a subsidiary label formed by Adrian Sherwood with the On-U Sound re-launch of 2002. It's brief partly was to take over the issue of singles, EP's and discoplates that had previously been issued under the On-U Sound banner (i.e. the majority of Part 4 of the On-U Sound Records discography). Additionally there were several reissues of earlier and/or previously unreleased On-U material.

Sound Boy also existed to release material by On-U 'associates' whether Adrian was directly involved in the creative process or not - no matter whether they were on vinyl or CD, single or album. The idea was to allow On-U Sound as a label to concentrate on album releases by Sherwood's own core of current singers and players. If you like, Sound Boy was a cross between the On-U Sound, Pressure Sounds and Green Tea imprints.

Unfortunately in early 2004 another label claimed to already have the rights to use the 'Sound Boy' name and On-U's 'version' was wound down, it's parent label taking up the release of singles once again. AMS involvement with individual releases is noted as appropriate.
