Lee "Scratch" Perry, the legendary Jamaican producer-and-dubmeister-turned-recording-artist, had already had a long and much-celebrated musical career before he first teamed up with Adrian Sherwood during the late 1980s. A person whose body of work justifies an entire website in its own right, the discography of "Scratch" listed here limits itself only to his credited On-U Sound productions and label appearances.

To begin with, this work was exclusively in collaboration with Style Scott's Dub Syndicate rhythm section, whose other extensive back catalogue is detailed elsewhere. This back catalogue features a small number of other "Scratch" contributions to individual tracks, without credit being given to him as the release's titled act.

Around 3000 copies of the original 1987 On-U editions were pressed before a licensing deal was struck with EMI. The album was later re-issued by On-U in 1994, after which legal wranglings saw EMI take back and retain control of the masters, retaining them to this day.

At least one completed but unreleased track from this project is know to exist. An album of dubs and remixes called 'Dub Setter' was also issued. The UKLP was a limited edition, the matrix number of the vinyl ('ON-U LP1007') being thought to be a mis-transcription of '1001' (the number given on the sleeve being completely different again: 'ON-U LP121'). On-U's official catalogue number for this release duplicates that of Little Axe's earlier 'Hard Grind' album.
