Articles and News (Part 1)

Besides On-U Sound's own publicity machine, the label has courted the interest of many intrigued writers and music journalists looking to put faces and meaning to the weird and wonderful material pouring off the label's production line, perhaps looking for an insider's view or for hints as to when the world can expect the next audio installment.

Here then are a selection of press cuttings where it is the artist, the label or the producer that is the main spotlight rather than their specific releases. The articles range from several page spreads right through to single sentence snippets of gossip. Where possible, I note the source of each cutting, the writers of which are usually credited within the articles themselves. These sources are a variety of music newspapers (NME, Melody Maker...), magazines (The Wire, Sniffin' Rock, The Lizard, Coda...) and Fanzines (Scam...), the majority of which were first published in the UK. The Press Reviews section details separately the media's assessment of individual releases and gigs.
